Mount Everest is the world’s highest mountain! It’s elevation is 29,031 ft and 8.5 in! Strangely, it attract many climbers with two different routes to reach the top. It presents multiple hazards such as the weather, wind, avalanches and icefall. More than 310 people have passed away trying to ascend the great mountain and their remains are still there since it is too dangerous to try to remove them.
The first attempt to reach the summit was made by British mountaineers in the early 1900s. Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary made the first documented ascent of Everest in 1953.
